The wedding ceremony is meant to be pretty and romantic, but it is also very predictable and people come to expect the same thing in every wedding. Reception however is where the fun begins. Therefore it is just as important if not more so finding a place wedding reception like that is to search the […]

Gallagher on missed opportunity for White House, NFL players

Gallagher on missed opportunity for White House, NFL players FOX News Videos • Jun 6, 2018, 11:11 PM Republican congressman from Wisconsin talks about the controversy surrounding the NFL and the developments with North Korea.

Wilcox was about to sign with the 49ers this week, but he backed out of the deal at the last minute and decided to sign with the Jets, according to ESPN.

Miles has been with the Jets since 2013, when they signed him as an undrafted rookie. He has played in 39 games, with five starts (four in 2016), while carving out a special teams role. He turns 30 in November.

Now he’s hoping for another chance, at a new position.

Adams has lost 68 pounds, from 323 to 255, and he’s hoping to get another chance to play in the NFL, as a tight end.

I want to give it another shot and get after it, Adams told the Rivalry podcast. I love the game. It’s what I want to do. It’s who I am.

Adams looks like he’s in very good shape, and he wrote on Twitter that it’s primarily about eating right.

Diet is key for the weight loss mixed with good ol hard work in the weight room and yoga studio to get cut up, Adams said.

Making it at a new position after a year out of football is a tall order, but he’s eager to show some team what the slimmed-down version of Mike Adams can do.

Bills TE Charles Clay has gone from Josh Allen’s fantasy team to his actual team.

Don’t assume Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake will be the starter.

After the offseason loss of Stephon Gilmore to the rival New England Patriots in free agency and the trade of 2015 second-round pick Ronald Darby to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Buffalo Bills desperately needed Tre’Davious White, their rookie first-round pick, to hit in 2017. Luckily for them, White proved that his athleticism could immediately translate, and he quickly was one of the best cornerbacks in the league.

President Trump cancels White House invitation for Super Bowl champion Eagles

Less than 24 hours before President Trump was to welcome the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles to the White House, he rescinded the invitation Monday evening.

Several members of the Eagles, including safety Malcolm Jenkins — one of the leaders of the Players Coalition — and defensive end Chris Long, said before Trump extended the invitation that they would not attend if invited.

The new rule defines a catch as having three parts: Control of the ball, two feet or another body part down, and making or having the ability to make a football move. It eliminates the need to complete the process of catching the ball.

Johnson, who set Lions records with 731 catches, 11,619 yards and 83 receiving touchdowns, joked that he wants a recount of the record book.

He didn’t answer, but when I saw him the next Monday, he was joking with me saying, ‘You were ready to kick my ass, huh, Donald?! You were mad as a mother——!’Gruden has maintained that drafting Miller had nothing to do with Penn. Donald has been a very good player for the Raiders, a guy that I coached in Tampa, know extremely well, but this has nothing to do with Donald Penn,Gruden said after Miller was selected. This is about the future of the Oakland Raiders, we have an outstanding young quarterback, we have a need at the position, and we’re very fortunate to address it, but it doesn’t really say anything to Donald Penn.

It’s a daily dose of football to get you right for that commute or gym trip.

But Miller and offensive tackle Brandon Parker, who the Raiders took in the third round this year gives the unit youth and depth. Penn understands this. I’m going to try and get those young guys right and take them under my wing,he said. …

Watch: Former NFL player Jerome Harrison, healthy after brain tumor, shares message of hope

eagles_110Jerome Harrison has a message for his followers.

Fister (1-7) allowed six hits and five runs in five innings, remaining winless in 10 starts since beating the Astros in his Texas debut on the second day of the season.

Marwin Gonzalez had a tying RBI double in the second before the speedy Tony Kemp’s infield single put the Astros in front for good. Springer followed with a liner into the corner in left field.

Choo, who extended his majors-leading streak of reaching base to 24 games, also had a walk and a bunt single.

McCain, who played collegiately at Memphis, was selected by the Dolphins in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He has registered 111 total tackles, two sacks and three interceptions in his three-year career.

The Dolphins missed the playoffs last season after finishing with a 6-10 record.

The Dodgers have shuttled pitchers both because of injury-related necessity and because the past few years they’ve in general been extremely flexible with the constitution of their roster. Last season, the Dodgers led the majors by total number of in-season transactions. This year, they are second, behind the Mets.

The other team in last year’s World Series, the champion Astros, have had a quiet transaction wire since winning their first title. Houston easily had the fewest players in its spring training camp, with very few non-roster invitees, and hasn’t seen any more turnover now that the season is underway. Houston’s only two pitcher-related options both involved sending out James Hoyt. Overall, the Astros have appeared on the transaction wire since Opening Day just 27 times. The Mets, who we mentioned have made the most moves, have appeared 118 times.

Report: Marcus Davenport to have thumb surgery after minicamp

eagles_111Saints first-round pick Marcus Davenport is reportedly headed for surgery before his first NFL training camp.

Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Advocate reports that Davenport hurt his thumb recently and needs to have it surgically repaired. The injury is not considered serious, a point that is reinforced by the fact that the young pass rusher will wait until after this week’s minicamp to have the operation.

Davenport is expected to be healed and ready to go when training camp gets underway this summer.

I looked at every pass he threw in the NFL out of a four-wide, a three-wide, out of an empty set, Jones said, and he threw the ball just like he did in college out of those. What the NFL did to him is put him in something he had never been in before. Never in high school, never in college, he had never run what he was asked to do. But when he was asked to do the things he had done, which is what he’ll be asked to do here, he looked like an All-Pro.

It’s not entirely clear what Jones wants, other than more. Though some think he’s not happy being the eighth highest-paid receiver in the NFL, the thing bugging him the most could be that quarterback Matt Ryan’s recent deal has a new-money average of $30 million per year, more than twice what Jones earns.

There’s a wild card in this equation, which per a league source has gotten the team’s attention. Jones has been working out with Terrell Owens, who wasn’t afraid to do what he had to do to get fairly compensated. Most recently, the duo was spotted in L.A., catching passes from new USC quarterback J.T. Daniels.

While Jones has been, from a personality standpoint, the exact opposite of T.O., they have three important things in common: They have off-the-charts God-given skills, Hall of Fame-caliber work ethics, and they both went through periods of being woefully underpaid. Owens dealt with his situation one way, Jones is dealing with his a different way.

Still, it’s out of character for Jones to skip practice, even if it’s voluntary. Come Tuesday, we’ll find out whether this mid-career curveball will include staying away from practices he’s contractually required to attend.

You’ve got to live with the mistakes and see what happens at the end of the game, Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia said.

eagles_112Torres’ game-winning hit came on the same day that he was named the American League Player of the Week. The award was no surprise, as the 21-year-old last week became the youngest player in AL history to homer four games in a row. For the week, he hit.368 with five homers and nine RBIs in six games.

Vegas continued its pressure early in the third, forcing Washington into two early penalties. But the Golden Knights failed to score with that two-man advantage, with Holtby repeatedly coming up big.

The five-time NBA champion added some extra star power to the Patriots’ voluntary workouts, which quarterback Tom Brady has so far not attended.

Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski are expected to show up Thursday for the team’s fifth OTA practice and for the mandatory minicamp which begins next week.

Odell BeckhamTadd Haislop: Beckham’s ankle injury came from what many would call a dirty play. So that injury in isolation compared to Leonard’s lingering issues is not a big deal. Leonard needing to seek advice outside his own organization regarding his recovery is a concern, for sure. But the bottom line is Beckham plays a sport in which injury is inherent. Football players, regardless of position, are perpetual health risks more so than players in any other sport.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft latest to be deposed in Colin Kaepernick collusion case, report says

Patriots owner Robert Kraft latest to be deposed in Colin Kaepernick collusion case, report says More As former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s collusion case against the NFL continues, Patriots owner Robert Kraft is the latest executive to be questioned in connection to the grievance, according to a report from TMZ.

Details haven’t been revealed when the deposition will take place or whether Kaepernick will be in attendance as he has been in the past. Kaepernick’s collusion case claims that he has been unable to find a job with the NFL and has been blackballed by NFL owners as a result of kneeling during the national anthem as a form of social protest. ESPN reported in November that Kraft would be asked to “turn over all cell phone records and emails” after Kaepernick filed the grievance.

As for Baffert, the Hall of Famer trainer doesn’t seem concerned at all if Justify has to run in sloppy conditions again.

Hungalu played 34 games with Oregon State, making 223 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 12 passes defensed and four fumble recoveries.

Smith started at right tackle his final three seasons at East Carolina.

Gennesy, who started 26 games at left tackle while at Texas A&M, spent last season on the team’s practice squad.

Despite missing seven games since the start of his career in 2016, Elliott is one of just two players with 25 touchdowns over the course of the last two years (along with Todd Gurley). So his mere presence should help quarterback Dak Prescott bounce back from a sophomore slump, while giving Dallas a chance to get back into the playoffs.

Little went right for the Broncos during an 11-loss 2017 season, but Denver has been proactive in trying to right the ship this offseason. As a result, there’s a lot to be optimistic about entering 2018. bucks_434

Jets set visit with free agent safety Kenny Vaccaro

The safety market has been relatively quiet this offseason, but Kenny Vaccaro is starting to generate some interest.

Vaccaro’s next scheduled visit is with the Jets, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. He just visited the Colts and has previously visited the Dolphins, so Vaccaro seems to be drawing interest.

Only seven of the players in our Free Agent Top 100 remain unsigned, and most of them are safeties. Vaccaro, the No. 27 player overall, is the highest-ranked unsigned player. Also unsigned are safeties Tre Boston, Eric Reid and Tyvon Branch.

Having the Preakness favorite has never bothered Bob Baffert before and it doesn’t bother him with Justify.

Coming off an impressive victory in the Kentucky Derby , Justify is the 1-2 morning-line favorite for Saturday’s second race in a field of eight horses. Derby runner-up Good Magic is the second choice at 3-1, but Justify is the horse to beat with the chance to give Baffert his seventh Preakness winner and a shot at a second Triple Crown in four years after American Pharoah did it in 2015.

Bosa finished the 2017 season with 12.5 sacks, 70 tackles (54 solo), four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one pass defensed. On Oct. 29, he surpassed former 49ers defensive end Aldon Smith’s NFL record for most sacks through a player’s first 20 games in NFL history with 18.5 by sacking Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Bosa had his jersey and game-worn gloves put on display in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

It was the hardest race of his life.

But then those white silks Smith wore were shining like a beacon against the gathering darkness, and Baffert recalled he thought that “this is what makes racing so great” … when a horse in his position feels it all and lets loose and in that moment, he becomes all race horse.

So once again, we have a genuine contender for the Triple Crown three weeks from now at Belmont Park. Baffert believes it will happen. Justify is big enough and strong enough but with fresh newcomers on the battlefield and one or two survivors from Preakness, the run-up before that final struggle will every bit as dramatic as what happened here on this day.

We will treat him the way we did after the Derby, Baffert said. “First, he has to come out strong the next day, and then he has to train every bit as strong as he has in the past. We will just let him dictate. He was blowing hard at the finish today. You can tell he was in a fight all the way. cowboys_068

Bills wide receiver Zay Jones undergoes knee surgery

Zay Jones will be missing in action for the rest of his team’s spring practices.

The Bills wide receiver underwent knee surgery last week and will be sidelined several weeks as he recovers, coach Sean McDermott announced Thursday.

For what it’s worth, Henry reported for workouts when he was done doing something that was nobody’s business but his own. Believe it or not, he showed up in great shape. At the end of the season, he played a big role in the Titans’ wild-card playoff win over the Chiefs.

“There is no problem with Derrick,” his position coach Sylvester Croom said after Henry eventually reported, according to the Titans website. “The guy was in school, he is here now, and he is working. So we are moving forward from there.”

NFL teams, players and coaches alike should have moved forward from this entire mindset long ago.

“The real reason I haven’t signed is because I’ve contemplated retiring,” Galette said.

Galette spent last season with the Redskins. He recorded 20 tackles and three sacks in 16 games.

On Thursday, Patricia said the indictment “never came up, it was never asked, it was never an issue” and has “never been part of any process I’ve been involved with before,” including with the Lions. The team, from the owner down, said it never came up, in their background checks or their interview, from them or from him. Belichick released a statement echoing the same about his Patriots tenure.

Never came up. A felony indictment. In which, to be crystal clear, the charges were dropped. This is not about his guilt or innocence — at least not right now.

But understand, this was a grand jury indictment of a man who subsequently coached at a high school, three universities and the defining dynasty of this era in the NFL. And who had moved up the ladder from outside the sport’s normal job pipelines — as an engineer at an air and filtration company, which would seemingly demand an extra level of check into who this guy was and where he came from.ravens_177

Packers GM expects new Aaron Rodgers contract soon

Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst believes a new contract with quarterback Aaron Rodgers will get done.

Gutekunst said this morning on PFT Live that he sees no reason that the Packers and Rodgers won’t come to terms.

Gutekunst, however, doesn’t see that happening. He expects a deal to get done.

And then good things will happen for him. The reinstatement process, involving interviews and examination of medical and police records, could take 45-plus days before it ultimately ends up in front of commissioner Roger Goodell. Gregory, 25, appeared in 12 games for the Cowboys in 2015 and two in 2016. He recorded a total of 20 tackles and five sacks.

Chiefs rookie Kareem Hunt led the NFL in rushing yards (1,327) in 2017, but he fell far short of approaching Dickerson.

The Giants haven’t had a 1,000-yard rusher since 2012, but they likely will have at least three new starters on the offensive line after signing left tackle Nate Solder and guard Patrick Omameh in free agency, and drafting guard Will Hernandez in the second round.

Ereck Flowers is moving from left tackle to right tackle but is no lock to be on the team in the preseason, let alone to start.

Asked if Barkley has a chance to break the record, Dickerson point-blank said, “No.”

Of course, part of Barkley’s appeal to the Giants is his value in pass protection and as a receiver, so his rushing yardage total won’t tell the full story of his rookie year.

Anytime you play at this level and you step away from it, especially when you stay connected to it — I think that’s the hard part, is analyzing it and covering the games and doing that kind of stuff, anytime you’re around it … and especially since I feel really, really good.

So I’m like ‘I think I could still play.broncos_006_e99599e4a5b80608-180x180

Ereck Flowers hires Drew Rosenhaus

Giants tackle Ereck Flowers went without an agent for his first three years in the NFL, but he’s opted for a different approach as his fourth year unfolds.

Flowers has hired Drew Rosenhaus to represent him at a moment when he is not attending the team’s offseason program after a rough 2017 season and a move to right tackle after the Giants signed Nate Solder. There were multiple reports about a desire to trade Flowers leading up to the draft, but didn’t get an offer to their liking.

We’re like in the construction phase of this in terms of putting it together, yet, we’re still able to help the No. 3 pick in the draft get way better, Palmer said. Typically, you have to wait for the final version to come out for anybody to even understand it and use it, so the fact that it’s being this helpful this early and we still have a lot of really cool things we’re going to figure out ahead of us is exciting.

With Jensen at center, the Buccaneers will move Ali Marpet to guard. He’ll join Evan Smith, third-round pick Alex Cappa and, once he’s cleared from a knee injury, J.R. Sweezy at that position. General Manager Jason Licht said that Sweezy’s recovery will force the Bucs to make some choices at the position.

“J.R. is rehabbing right now, and we’re going to see how that goes,” Licht said on WDAE, via the Tampa Bay Times. “He hasn’t been cleared. Hopefully he gets cleared by training camp and we will see how it goes then. You can’t have enough offensive linemen in my opinion, and right now, looks like we’re getting to the point where we have a few extra that we can make some decisions then, some tough decisions but some good decisions.”

Sweezy’s $6.5 million salary for 2018 isn’t guaranteed, which, healthy or not, would seem to put him at risk of being on the wrong side of one of those decisions coming down the line.

So I think we’re completely done now.

Since we all thought Warner was completely done long ago, that is a surprise.broncos_092_5f19f04129a61730-180x180
